Abi Carter is founder and director of award-winning Forensic Resources Ltd, a forensic science consultancy firm providing expert services to
legal defence and civil litigation teams as well as fraud investigators, insurers, HR departments and private clients.
A Forensic Archaeologist by profession, Abi originally trained to investigate international human rights violations before setting up her business 14 years ago. Abi worked on evidence from the primary and secondary mass graves associated with the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and has been a very active board member of the Wales board of the charity ‘Remembering Srebrenica’ since 2017 and was made Co-Chair in 2018. Her dedication for this work and her commitment to creating and completing ‘Challenge8372’ where she raised in excess of £10,000 for the charity has been recognised by Chwarae Teg in winning the ‘Board Member’ category of their Womenspire awards in 2019.ABI CARTER – FORENSIC SCIENTIST

Abi is committed to the education of people in Wales and beyond through delivering speeches on hate crime awareness and community cohesion using the lessons from Srebrenica and has a very active role in mentoring students and young professionals. Abi is an honorary tutor at Cardiff University and is a mentor as well as providing entrepreneurship sessions through the Welsh Government Big Ideas Wales programme. Abi sits on a number of advisory committees linked with Innocence Projects, STEMM, research and justice and equality - most recently being appointed a member of the South Wales Police Strategic Independent Advisory Group. Abi can also be deployed worldwide as a forensic practitioner for a mass disasters emergency services company. Abi’s work has afforded her the privilege of working alongside many influential people and ministers of Wales, including Wales’ First Minister, Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth and ten ‘Senedd Friends of Srebrenica’ – a cross party Senedd group that she set up in 2021. Abi also holds an honorary role with the Royal Welsh Regiment. Abi grew up in the Middle East, but her Welsh roots lead her to set up her business in Cardiff.
